Every once in a while I receive a request to see some traditional wedding photos because there aren't very many examples of this on my website. The truth is, it doesn't take much skill or creativity to take a photo of a posed group. The only knowledge needed is basic posing and making sure the lighting is good. Even though I took the traditional looking at the camera photo of this group, I wanted to do something different and engage the group in a little bit more, so I had the entire group pointing at the bride and groom. This immediately created some laughter and giggles in the group, and I ended up with a large happy group full of smiles. Little things like this can provide variety and loosen up the group to get comfortable in front of the camera. So yes I do the traditional wedding photos at every wedding, but I also like to spice it up and create something different from time to time.
