I captured this beautiful bridal portrait at Pierre's South Brunswick. The venue is great for a mehndi or small wedding. At first glance the location looked like it wouldn't be ideal for a bridal portrait. Then I found this beautiful spot in the shade (this was taken close to high noon when the sun was still pretty harsh). The foliage created a beautiful natural frame for the bride, so I positioned her right in the center on the bench. I added a touch of flash with a pink gel and placed it behind the bride and pointing up, to add a little pop of color and to also have some separation with the background. In addition, the touch of color also went well with the bride's dress. Other then the gelled flash, nothing but natural light was used on the bride. I shot this at 24mm to ensure I could capture as much of the foliage as possible, and got in close to ensure other distracting elements were not in the frame. It's always nice to be able to shoot in a natural environment rather then a decorated stage, as it creates for a nice change to the commonly captured bridal portraits.
